Established in 1875, we are proud to say that we are one of the oldest crown green bowling clubs in Yorkshire.

Welcome to Skipton Devonshire Bowling Club
We are a small and friendly crown green bowling club based in the centre of the glorious market town of Skipton, Gateway to the Yorkshire Dales.
If you are a complete beginner interested in finding out a bit more about bowls and keen to have a go or a novice bowler hoping to improve your game or an experienced player looking for a new club to represent we would be delighted to hear from you.
Whether you only want to play socially with friends or you are fiercely competitive and keen to play at the highest level possible (or both!), we think we have something to offer everyone.
Our green and facilities are also available for hire, perhaps for your club trip (where better to hold your club competition?) or for your company team away day.

Bowls Big Weekend & Open sessions
Bowls’ Big Weekend is an annual national event, designed to introduce more people to the sport of bowls. We held a very successful and enjoyable afternoon @ Skipton Devonshire BC with a number of people having a go for the first time. We are holding a another open session on Sunday 6th July starting at 2.00pm. Encouraging the next generation of bowlers!
On 26th June 2025, with the help and support of experienced coaches Steve Clamp and Daryl Wright from Alkincoates BC and https://bowlsbuddies.com/, we were delighted to welcome the 5th Skipton Cub Scouts to our green for an introduction to crown green bowls.
A fun time was had by all and definitely some potential on show!
