 Annual General Meeting Summary

These are not intended to be the minutes of the meeting (which will be ratified at the next AGM) but a few notes of important items that should be of interest to members.

Financial Accounts

The Treasurer presented audited accounts which showed a loss for the year largely due to the escalating cost of utilities.  Since the AGM, the Treasurer has changed electricity supplier which should reduce costs.

Full sets of accounts are available from the Treasurer on request.

2025 Subscriptions & Match fees

To cover our estimated outgoings year on year, it was agreed that the annual subscriptions for 2025 would remain unchanged at £35; match fees would be £3 per match [amended by committee to £2.50 away from home] including tea/coffee for player & opponent at home.

If you would prefer to pay your subscriptions by bank transfer, contact the Treasurer directly or email using the button below and we will send your our account details.

2025 Election of Committee & Captains

In addition to the Club Trustees

The Committee was elected and can be found via the button below

The same teams will be entered in the Skipton & District League in 2025.  Team Captains and vice captains can be found via the button below.

Members News

A lot seems to have happened since the end of the 2024 season, here are a few highlights

Clubhouse & Facilities

The shelter now has a roof!
In addition, some floorboards have been replaced in the entrance to the clubhouse and some of the old furniture has been removed.
We are very grateful to John & Pat Drake for their generous donation of a new water boiler.

Greenkeeper's update

After the green closed at the end of last season:
- 1.5 tons of autumn top dressing was applied and the green was over seeded.
- Many thousands of worm casts were removed and a green conditioner was used to deter the worms.
- The green has been spiked to improve aeration & drainage.
- Brushing and cutting has been undertaken throughout the winter as required.
- A spring feed, iron and a wetting agent was applied March.
The green is now open and looks in good condition.

Safeguarding

Following request for expressions of interest, Dan Moore, Peter Richmond and Ian Hargreaves have all undertaken the Safeguarding Officer training.  Dan will be our designated Safeguarding Officer with Peter and Ian helping out when required.
Dan has produced a safeguarding policy poster which is displayed along with other relevant material on a notice board in the clubhouse.  Please take a few minutes to have a look at this; it is important and it is all our responsibility.

Club Rules & Code of Conduct

The Committee is in the process of redrafting the Club Rules which are in need of a refresh for several reasons.  Once completed, these will be presented to a General Meeting for approval.
The Club Rules will also include reference to a Code of Conduct as recommended by the BCGBA Safeguarding Officer.  The Code of Conduct can be found via the Safeguarding page.

BCGBA update

There have been a few minor updates to the laws of the game.  The most significant update is the introduction of a £1 per player per club annual levy to provide ring fenced funding for the much needed development of the sport.
